Infrared Light

Definition of Infrared Light
Invisible light of about 800 nm that humans experience as heat.
There are three types of infrared light depending on their wavelengths; near (0.8–1.5 µm), mid (1.5–5.6 µm), and far-infrared (5.6–1000 µm).
In saunas, infrared light is generated from infrared heaters which heat the body directly rather than heating the air in the sauna as is the case in a traditional sauna.
Different infrared light wavelengths have specific health benefits for the body.
Some of the benefits include improving blood circulation, reducing oxidative stress, and improving skin texture and appearance.
