6 Person Saunas

How Big Is a 6 Person Sauna?

Six person saunas vary a lot by style. A few examples from our collection:

Sauna	Type	Exterior dimensions
Golden Designs Reserve 6-Person	Indoor infrared	73"W x 55"D x 74"H
Dynamic Monaco Elite 6-Person	Indoor infrared	73"W x 61"D x 79"H
SaunaLife E8 6-Person Barrel	Outdoor traditional	87"L x 81" diameter
Dundalk Georgian 6-Person Cabin	Outdoor traditional	95"W x 87"D x 100"H

Plan for a few extra inches around indoor saunas, and a level pad for outdoor ones.

Indoor vs. Outdoor 6 Person Saunas

Indoor 6 person saunas are mostly infrared and fit a basement, home gym or large spare room. Outdoor 6 person saunas are usually traditional barrels and cabins, built for snow, rain and a cold plunge between rounds. See all outdoor saunas.

Infrared, Traditional or Hybrid?

Infrared saunas run gentler heat and are easier to install. Traditional saunas give you higher heat and steam. Hybrids give you both. Not sure which fits? Read our infrared vs. traditional sauna guide.

What Power Does a 6 Person Sauna Need?

Large infrared saunas often need two dedicated 120V circuits. The Reserve 6-Person and Monaco Elite both do, so plan on an electrician. Traditional 6 person saunas use a heater sized to the room, usually on a dedicated 240V circuit. The Georgian cabin calls for an 8 kW heater. Use our heater size calculator to find the right size.

6 Person Sauna FAQs

How much does a 6 person sauna cost?

Our 6 person saunas start around $6,000 for barrels and indoor infrared models and go up to about $23,000 for large outdoor hybrids. Traditional saunas may also need a heater, which some models don't include.

How big is a 6 person sauna?

Indoor infrared models run about 6 feet wide by 4.5 to 5 feet deep. Outdoor barrels and cabins are larger, about 7 to 8 feet across.

What size heater does a 6 person sauna need?

It depends on the room's volume, not the number of people. Many 6 person traditional saunas need a 6–9 kW heater. Use our heater size calculator.

Can a 6 person sauna go indoors?

Yes. Most indoor 6 person saunas are infrared, like the Golden Designs Reserve and Dynamic Monaco Elite. Some traditional models can go indoors with proper ventilation.

Is a 6 person sauna hard to deliver?

Larger saunas ship by freight, and outdoor cabins can be very heavy. The Georgian cabin needs a forklift or crane to unload. Indoor infrared models ship in several boxes that a few people can carry.
