Definition of Task Light
Direct lighting used to perform specific tasks or illuminate a given area.
It’s different from ambient light which provides uniform illumination over an area and accent light whose purpose is to draw attention to a specific structure.
Task lighting improves visibility, and reduces eye strain, and fatigue.
Some saunas include a reading light, a type of task lighting so bathers can catch up on their favorite books during a session.
Additionally, task lights can be added to working desks, mounted on the wall, or suspended from the ceiling.
