Thermo-Spruce
type of wood
Definition of Thermo-Spruce
Thermally modified Nordic Spruce.
Thermo-Spruce has excellent weather resistance and durability. It can last up to 2X longer than Canadian Red Cedar. Therefore, this wood can be included for interior or exterior use.
Additionally, thermally-treated Spruce has a beautiful light-golden tone.
It’s commonly used to make floor kits and staves like in the ERGO Series Barrel Sauna and E6W Barrel Sauna because it has reduced moisture-absorbing capabilities.
Other features that make it suitable for such use in saunas include the ability to withstand high temperatures and resistance to warping and cracking.
