Introducing Golden Designs Outdoor Hybrid Saunas (2024)

GOLDEN DESIGNS HYBRID SAUNAS

Can't decide whether you want an infrared sauna or a traditional sauna? Golden Designs makes that decision a whole lot easier with their new line of hybrid saunas.  These are true luxury saunas. Hybrid saunas feature both infrared sauna heaters and a traditional sauna heater so you can benefit from both types of sauna.

Let's cover some sauna basics then jump in to these new Golden Designs Outdoor Hybrid Saunas.

HOW INFRARED SAUNAS WORK

As we've discussed before, infrared saunas work by emitting infrared light that directly heats your body.  This is the same type of light that the sun emits and the reason it feels hot in the sun v. in shade.  The infrared light spectrum has three areas, far, mid and near.  Each of these areas of infrared light penetrates the body differently and provides different benefits.

As the infrared light penetrates your body you start to feel hot and sweat.  Although the air temperature in an infrared sauna typically only gets up to a max of about 140 degrees Fahrenheit, it may feel quite a bit hotter.  Most people are able to sit in an infrared sauna for longer periods of time compared to a traditional sauna.

The way that infrared saunas work is totally different from the way that traditional saunas work, although they can both cause you to sweat in buckets!

HOW TRADITIONAL SAUNAS WORK

Traditional saunas are a bit easier to explainTraditional saunas like the Golden Designs Traditional cedar saunas use a heater - typically electric or wood-fired - to heat the sauna room directly. Most people like their saunas in the 175-180 degrees Fahrenheit range, but some people like to heat their saunas up to over 200 degrees!

Electric heaters and wood fired sauna stoves generally have rocks on the top of the heater that heat up as well.  Water is poured over these sauna stones to create steam.  This increases the humidity in the sauna room and makes the sauna feel much hotter.

So, who wants to combine the powers of infrared saunas with traditional saunas to get the best of both worlds?

COMBINING INFRARED AND TRADITIONAL SAUNAS

Hybrid saunas use both infrared sauna heaters and traditional sauna heaters in one sauna unit to offer the user a way to benefit from both heating methods.  Hybrid saunas aren't intended to run both the infrared sauna heaters and traditional sauna heater at once.  But if you feel like using a traditional sauna one day, and an infrared sauna the next, a hybrid sauna is a great option to look into.

A TRUE OUTDOOR INFRARED SAUNA

Infrared saunas are typically of the indoor variety, and there aren't too many true outdoor infrared saunas on the market as of 2023.  However, the Golden Designs Outdoor Hybrid Saunas feature an all weather exterior that stands up to the elements throughout the winter.  They are thick and water proof, so even if you're just looking for an infrared sauna for your backyard, a hybrid sauna might be something to think about as well.

A TRUE OUTDOOR TRADITIONAL SAUNA

Unlike hybrid versions of other products, you don't lose any functionality when you use a hybrid sauna.  This makes the Golden Designs outdoor hybrid saunas true outdoor traditional saunas.  Just turn on the Harvia electric sauna heater, pour some water over the sauna stones and enjoy your traditional sauna as you would if it didn't have infrared sauna heaters built into it.  You won't even notice them! It's a true outdoor sauna

A TRUE LUXURY SAUNA

Ah, luxury saunas.  When I think of luxury sauna I think of Red Cedar.  Not only are the Golden Designs Outdoor Hybrid Saunas built from Western Canadian Red Cedar, they have tons of features as well.  Utilizing a digital touchpad, the built-in Bluetooth stereo lets you listen to your favorite jams or podcast as you lay back and sweat it out.  And the chromotherapy lighting can instantly set the exact mood you're looking for.  Interior and exterior accent lighting makes these saunas look unbelievably inviting, especially in the winter, as well.

All of these features really make it feel like you're sitting in a sauna at a luxury spa.  The difference is you're getting all of this right at home!
