Outdoor Saunas

Outdoor Saunas by Style, Heat & Wood

We carry outdoor saunas from Dundalk Leisurecraft, Golden Designs, SaunaLife, Auroom, SunRay, Sun Home, Sweat Kingdom and Iglucraft, along with our own Baldy Barrel. Shop by style: barrel saunas, cabin saunas and cube saunas. For a classic Finnish sauna with stones and steam, browse traditional outdoor saunas. For lower-temperature heat, see outdoor infrared saunas, or get both in one cabin with a hybrid sauna.

Our outdoor models are built from cedar, Canadian hemlock, Nordic spruce, and thermally modified spruce and aspen. Cedar resists rot naturally, and thermally modified wood is heat-treated to resist moisture. Every sauna ships free and is covered by our 10-year warranty.

Outdoor Sauna FAQs

How much does an outdoor sauna cost?

Our outdoor saunas start around $3,800, and 2-person barrel and cube models start around $5,000. Larger cabins with changing rooms or glass fronts range from $10,000 to $25,000 and up. Budget separately for a foundation and, on electric models, an electrician. See our full cost breakdown, including heaters, installation and operating costs.

Can any sauna be placed outside?

No, only saunas built for outdoor use should be placed outside. Outdoor models have shingled roofs, sealed seams, and exterior-grade wood such as thermo-treated spruce or cedar. An indoor sauna placed outside will absorb moisture and break down.

What do I need to set up an outdoor sauna?

A level, well-drained base such as a concrete pad, pavers, or a sturdy deck. Most electric heaters need a dedicated 240V circuit, and wood-burning stoves need safe chimney clearance. Check local permit and HOA rules before you order.

Barrel, cabin, or cube: which is best?

Barrel saunas are generally the most budget-friendly and heat efficiently because of their round shape. Cabin saunas offer the most room and options like porches and changing rooms. Cube saunas are the most popular outdoor sauna type right now, suit modern homes and often have glass fronts.

What is the 200 rule for saunas?

It's a traditional rule of thumb: the temperature in Fahrenheit plus the relative humidity by percentage should add up to about 200. For example, 180°F at 20% humidity, or 160°F at 40% after pouring water on the stones. It applies to traditional saunas, not infrared.
