SaunaLife Barrel Saunas

SaunaLife barrel saunas are built from thermally modified Nordic spruce: wood that's heated and steamed until it's denser and more resistant to rot and warping than standard spruce. Every model shares the same 6'5" diameter barrel, ergonomic thermo-aspen benches, dual floor drains and a black shingle roof. Choose the E6 for two people, the E7 for four or the E8 for six, then pick a version with more glass if you want the view.

Choosing a SaunaLife Barrel Sauna

Start with size. The barrel diameter is the same across the line, so the E6, E7 and E8 differ in length and seating. Next, decide how much glass you want: the W and G versions open up more of the view. Finally, choose a heater. Each model comes with no heater, a Harvia Kip, or a HUUM Drop bundle with WiFi control. Comparing woods and brands? See all barrel saunas or our guide to Thermory barrel sauna alternatives.

SaunaLife Barrel Sauna FAQs

What is thermally modified spruce?

It's Nordic spruce that's been heated and steamed at high temperature. The process makes the wood denser and more resistant to moisture, rot and warping, which is why it holds up well in an outdoor sauna.

What's the difference between the E6, E7 and E8?

Seating. The E6 holds two people, the E7 holds four and the E8 holds six. All three share the same 6'5" diameter, ergonomic benches and roof.

Which heater should I choose?

The Harvia Kip is the value pick with built-in controls. The HUUM Drop costs more and adds WiFi control from your phone. If you already have a heater, choose the no-heater option. Our heater size calculator can confirm the right size.

Do SaunaLife barrel saunas come with a roof?

Yes. Every E-Series barrel includes a black asphalt shingle roof.

How much does a SaunaLife barrel sauna cost?

Prices start at $5,340 for the E6 without a heater. Our home sauna cost guide covers heaters, electrical and installation.
